Regarding the recent unanimous planning board decision to approve the Hampton Beach Casino Project
There was not much discussion at the 11.5.25 Hampton planning board meeting as far as the project's impact to the town and critical infrastructure improvements that will be necessary, infrastructure to include police, fire, and public works departments. That SHOULD BE THE BIGGEST concern.
AS FAR AS INPUT BY UNELECTED COMMISSIONS AND CHAMBERS
FIRST. Take a look back as to why the chamber of commerce was created under President Taft?
to be a "central organization in touch with associations and chambers of commerce throughout the country and able to keep purely American interests in a closer touch with different phases of commercial affairs."
SECOND. Where does it say "to be a proponent of global progressive policies and lobby them to locally elected officials?
THIRD What does the town of Hampton get from policing, protecting, maintaining ANY IMPLICATIONS FROM THIS project? What does it GET out of HOSTING the seafood festival?
AND FOURTH. On top of that, there is never a "union" for the residential taxpayer. Who lobbies for them?
Well that is where the selectmen are supposed to step in an act as true servants of ALL the people. Instead, we get excuses about how much of a "bust" the seafood festival was this year.
Perhaps the state should bid the seafood festival out to another vendor who can DO A BETTER JOB?
As far as input on the project from out-of-towners, please tell Joe Sweeney and the Salem boys thanks but we already have enough of Salem, NH here.
