New Hampshire maintains much bureaucracy on hand when it comes to energy regulation in the State. Between the public utilities commission (aka the PUC) and the state department of energy (DOE), the granite state is drowning in utility bureaucracy.

Summary of Executive Order by President Donald J. Trump (April 8, 2025):
Purpose:
The order aims to promote "American energy dominance" by eliminating what it describes as unconstitutional or excessive State-level barriers to domestic energy development, including oil, gas, coal, nuclear, and other energy sources. The Administration views these barriers — especially those based on climate change and environmental justice policies — as threats to national and economic security.
Concerns Raised:
Certain States (e.g., New York, Vermont, California) have enacted laws and policies that retroactively fine or restrict energy producers, allegedly overstepping their authority.
These laws are criticized for increasing energy costs nationwide, discriminating against out-of-State companies, and interfering with interstate commerce.
The order frames such State actions as undermining federalism and violating constitutional principles such as the equality of States.
Actions Ordered:
The Attorney General must identify and challenge State and local laws that burden domestic energy development and may be unconstitutional, preempted by federal law, or otherwise illegal.
Priority will be given to laws related to climate change, carbon taxes, environmental justice, and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) initiatives.
The Attorney General is to act quickly to stop enforcement of these laws and provide a report with recommendations within 60 days.
General Provisions:
The order respects existing legal authorities and budgetary constraints.
It does not create enforceable legal rights for third parties.
Overall Message: The Administration seeks to block State-level climate policies it sees as overreaching, asserting federal primacy in energy regulation and defending traditional energy sectors against what it characterizes as ideologically driven legal attacks.
TIME TO CUT THE RED TAPE.
RESTORE THE GRANITE STATE REPUBLIC.
