đ¨ PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT â PROPERTY TAX RED FLAG đ¨
Every few years, the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) reviews your townâs property assessment practices â the very system that determines what your home is âworthâ and how much you pay in property taxes.
In 2018, the town received a 95% rating.
In 2023, that score plummeted to 42%.
Thatâs not a minor dip â thatâs a collapse.
According to testimony from the town manager, this failing grade was never brought to the Board of Selectmenâs attention and was not presented to the board by the contracted assessor, Municipal Resources.
Your property taxes are based on these assessment practices. If the grading dropped that drastically and leadership didnât even address it, the public deserves to know why.
