UNSPENT TAX DOLLARS, FIRE DEPARTMENT INVEST NH GRANT, AND THE TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE
RUMBLE VIDEO HERE
FIRST, UNSPENT TAX DOLLARS
The town of Hampton has approximately $7 million in the Unassigned Fund Balance,
The town of Hampton municipal portion of additional taxes raised in 2025 is over $3.2 million.
The town of Hampton has $7 million in unspent appropriated warrant articles.
My questions are when we the taxpayers either see millions returned or millions invested into critical, physical infrastructure of the town. When will taxpayers see millions returned by Concord to Hampton annually for the same critical, physical infrastructure that the state of NH and its coffers relies on just as much as Hampton does.
SECOND, AS ON THE AGENDA TONIGHT – ACCEPTANCE OF FD INVEST NH GRANT
Point of information - Housing Opportunity Planning grant funds can to be used for the following activities,
· To Audit a municipality’s land use regulations and make recommendations for changes to promote housing development.
· To Create new regulations or revise existing regulations with the stated primary goal of increasing the supply of housing in the community, especially affordable and workforce housing.
My question, does this mean that outside agencies are going to come into the town and audit our fire code to comply with regulations of a certain grant?
LASTLY, THE TOWN CLERKS OFFICE
It has been reported to me that the town clerk's office is down two employees, one current employee is a candidate on the ballot.
It has been reported to me that certain town of Hampton public officials are electioneering from their offices at 100 Winnacunnet Road. Electioneering is a violation of NH RSA 659:44-a. Electioneering is considered a misdemeanor in New Hampshire.
State statute violations by public employees is a violation to their oath of office and as we have seen with the former town clerk, a cause for removal.
My questions are, is the board aware of any acts or reports of state election law violations, including electioneering by any town officials? If so, how will these officials be held accountable?
We have an election tomorrow.
Thank you.
