LOCAL ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDEMTS IN HAMPTON, NEW HAMPSHIRE
🚨 HAMPTON VOTERS — PAY ATTENTION. THIS IS BIG. 🚨
On March 10th, the Town of Hampton — through the Planning Board — is presenting ordinance amendments that will fundamentally change how and where telecommunications and cellular towers can be placed in our town.
Let’s be blunt: this is not minor housekeeping. These changes could open the door for cell towers to be placed far more broadly and with far fewer limitations than residents may realize. Once the ordinance is amended, it becomes the framework that governs future approvals. In plain English — it determines where towers can go and how easily they get there.
There are serious concerns surrounding the Telecommunications Committee’s procedures, communications, legal oversight, and adherence to New Hampshire’s Right-to-Know Law (RSA 91-A). Questions may be raised about:
Whether statutory notice, transparency, and public accountability requirements have been fully met
Whether decision-making authority properly rests with the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment
But regardless of internal process concerns, one thing is absolutely clear:
🗳 This will be decided by voters on March 10th.
If you care about:
• Where cell towers can be built
• How much say residents truly have
• Whether local boards are staying within their legal boundaries
• Transparency in town government
Then this vote matters.
This is not something to ignore or assume someone else will handle. Ordinance amendments shape Hampton’s landscape for years — sometimes decades — to come.
📣 Rally your neighbors. Read the warrant article. Show up informed. Vote NO on March 10th.
Once it’s passed, it’s far harder to undo.
Hampton deserves transparency, lawful procedure, and full public awareness before permanent changes are made.
Spread the word.
